The ability for apps to share data amongst themselves is one of the great new features of iOS 8. You can customize what apps will appear and you can also rearrange the order in which they appear. You’ll then see all of the apps that you have installed that offer widgets for the Today View. To enable a widget, pull down Notification Center and then switch to the Today view. iOS doesn’t allow developers to turn those on by default, but the process to turn them on is really simple. This is going to allow some great new functionalities for those apps that take advantage of quick input (like Evernote) or a quick glance at your to do list (like OmniFocus).
